Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things we really do not need. Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives. Which viewpoint do you agree with? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

 

I think that everyone can divide all advertising products and services into useless ones and useful ones. It is like looking through an information desk when you pay attention to those messages that interest you. Take me for example.

I do not like jewelry. It does not mean I do not have it at all, I have a couple of inexpensive rings as gifts from my parents. I just think, people pay too much attention to this stuff. I believe it is the result of mass advertising. Every day when I am watching TV, listening to the radio or reading the paper I notice many ads about getting an expensive ring, chain, necklace or ear-rings. From my point of view these kinds of advertising contaminate people's minds. In this case you are encouraged to buy things you do not really need. They make you believe you need such products in order to succeed or be happy.

From the other side, I think that advertisements of the new detergents with up-to-date formulas to help you maintain your cloth in perfect conditions, the new cars with some extra futures that make your traveling more comfortable and sports goods that make your life healthier may help you to improve your life.

Recently my husband and I saw an ad on the Internet about a very interesting and inexpensive vocation to Japan for a week. Is not it awesome? We like traveling. So now we are planning to find out more about it and, may be, make reservations. I belief that without advertisements we would be unaware about plenty of oppotunities that may make your life happier, easier and less stressful.

My point is that every person has his own scale of values. So if he is vegetarian he will consider an ad about meat products useless for him.

What scenic spots or tourist spots in your hometown would you advice to a foreigner to visit?Why?

My answer :

There are lots of scenic spots in my hometown. There are Korean traditional places which you can learn Korean history and very beautiful places which you can feel the beauty of the nature. I will describe a few places which you can enjoy attraction of Korea.

Firstly, I want to recommand you Gyeongbokgung to visit. It is one of Korean historical buildings which the government is reservating. Several hundreds years ago, the many kings who wore the crown in Joseon, which was one of the older names of Korean, have lived in there, In other word, it is the palace of Joseon. It has been built in Korean architectural method and has lots of buildings. Each of them can give you peasure of watching beauty. In addition, there is Korean National Museum in Kyeongbokgung. If you want, you can see whole history of old Korea. When I went there before, I could obtain much remained knowledges and see lots of inheritances.

Secondly, I want to bring you the Han river through Seoul which is the capital city of Korea because it has a lot of fantastic scenaries and there are many stories that I want to tell you. There are a number of long bridges above it. They have different shapes and sizes. Some of them is lighted up by the colourful lights at night and some of them have the girandole. If you want to execise in the riverside, you can do it in the park in riverside of the Han river. Many people enjoy the in-line sports, jogging, walk and another sports in the citizen’s park of the Han river. If you don’t like sports, you can also enjoy other eatertainment such as an excursion ship or fireworks.

Lastly, you can enjoy the Seoul Tower which was built in the top of Namsan. It is a kind of the tower for broadcasting, but it is famous for the highest building of Seoul. Every time the cable car which makes people to go up to the top of Namsan easily is operating and there are an observation platform which people can see all of Seoul at a glance and a nice restaurant.

I described some places to you to visit in my hometown. I hope that you will enjoy the convenient tour in Korea. In addition, I want to share the experiences of Korean beauty with you later.

Survival on the Moon

The year is 2040. You are a member of a space crew that was to rendezvous with the mother ship on the lighted surface of the moon. You experienced mechanical difficulties and your ship was forced to land about 200 miles from the point you were to be. During re-entry and landing, much of the equipment on your ship was damaged. I met Hyunju...

When I was at the university, I've liked a girl who was called Hyunju. She is older than I. I have told that I loved her, but she refused my love. And then I was absent from college temporarily and joined the army.

After a few years, I came back from army and she was removed from my memory. But ten years from that time, I happened on her and I have kept in with her until now.

A few days ago when I remined her, I called her and asked after her. Therefore, I went to meet her and we ate a lunch together. She is in the eight months of fregnancy. She has got married my friend who went to college with me. She looks so fatty a little bit because she is fregnancy. I asked her something to wonder and she replied my questions. 

Now I am happy because I met her after a long separation.

오체투지

2002년도에 중국의 티벳을 다녀온 적이 있다..

티벳은 지금 중국에 속한 소수민족의 하나이지만 몇 백 년 전만 해도 중국을 호령하던 강대한 민족 중 하나였다..

중국이 티벳의 비위를 맞추기 위해서 황제을 딸인 공주를 시집보낼 절도였으니 말이다..

그렇지만 20세기 초반에서 중반으로 넘어가면서 티벳이 현대화 되기 전 중국이 무력으로 티벳을 복속시켜 버렸다..

그 와중에 엄청 많은 티벳인들이 죽고 티벳의 정신적 지주인 달라이라마는 인도로 망명하고 만다..

지금도 티벳에 가면 남자들이 공공연히 칼을 차고 다니면서 독립를 얘기하고 다닌다..

내가 갔을 때에도 장식용인지, 실전용인지 알 수는 없지만 남자들이 칼을 허벅지에 덜렁거리며 달고 다닌 것을 보았다..

내가 갔을 때는 2월 말로 중국의 춘절기간과 좀 겹쳤었는데 티벳은 춘절보다 티벳불교에서 말하는 의식기간이었다..(이름은 까먹었다..)

내가 거쳐간 경로는 샹하이 - (기차29시간) - 란저우 - (택시6시간) - 샤허 였다..

샤허가 바로 티벳5대 사원 중의 하나로 지금도 약 3,000여명의 티벳승려가 있는 라뿌렁쓰(라졍곤빠)라는 사원이 있는 곳이다..

란저우에서 샤허로 6시간을 가는 도중 오체투지를 하는 사람들을 지나쳤다..

그들은 자기네 집에서 샤허까지 그렇게 오체투지를 하면서 간다고 한다..

어떤 사람들은 집에서 티벳불교의 중심지인 라싸까지 약 5,000-6,000Km를 몇 년에 걸쳐서 그렇게 간다고 한다..

대단하다는 의미를 넘어서 고개가 절레절레 저어질 정도이다..

어찌 사람이 저렇게 할 수 있을까..라는 생각이 들 정도로 몰골이 말이 아니다..

그래도 그들은 그렇게 하면 집 안의 아픈 누군가가 낫게 된다고 믿으며 집에 복을 가져와 줄 거라고 믿고 있다.

내가 보기엔 누군가가 낫기 전에 오체투지를 하는 사람이 병들어 죽는 게 먼저일 것 같다..

누군가 이런 것을 시작했을까?

1. 미쿡 유학시절 (본인 미대생) 돌려쓰는 색연필 (초등학생때 주로 쓰는거) 가져가서 돌려서 써줬더니 미국애들 떡실신. 조낸 신기하다며 입에 거품물고 열광함.

 

2. 브루마블을 가져가서 룰을 설명하고 세계인과 브루마블을 즐긴적이 있는데
브루마블에 떡실신. 마약보다 더좋아하는 것 같았음. 특히 황금열쇠의 백미에 푹빠졌었다는...

 

3. 한국인 여자애가 공기놀이를 전파하자 또다시 떡실신. 중국 기예단 서커스보다 신기한 손기술이라며 다들 가르쳐달라고 열광.

 

4. 떡실신하는게 신기해서 한국에서 비장의 무기 흔드는 샤프 가져옴.
그날 소더비 경매 뺨치는 가격에 팔라는 소리가 나올지경.

 

5. 향기나는 펜을 마지막으로 보여줬더니 난 미국 뉴욕땅에서 신대접 받았음.

이밖에도 김부터 시작해서 불고기 바나나킥 신라면 등등 음식에도 열광했지만
한두개가 아님.ㅋㅋㅋ

 

외국인 떡실신 시리즈2탄

1. 지난 겨울 영국인 친구 세명이 놀러왔는데 가방에서 일회용 라이타 5개 나오는 것 보고 떡실신.
지금 환율로 영국은 라이타 하나에 대략 2~3 천원쯤 하는걸로 알고있음.
300원이라고 하니까 편의점에서 사재기했음. 그쪽에 bic은 없나? 있을텐데...

 

2. 미국에서 일본인 유학생이 스시집에 아메리칸들과 나를 데려갔는데 일본친구가 젓가락질을 가르치고있을때 오른손에 수저 둘다 집고 국물과 스시를 번갈아가며 먹는 날 보고 다들 떡실신.

 

3. 새콤달콤을 주머니에서 꺼냈더니 신세계를 보았노라는 표정으로 개 사료먹듯 처묵처묵.
돌아온 후 이메일에 무려 일곱명이 secom dalcom 보내달라고 요청함.

 

4. 작년에 뉴욕갔을때 옥션에서 사입은 6만원짜리 디스퀘어드 이미테이션 청바지를 입은 나를 보고
미국애들 떡실신. 한국 귀족으로 변신할수 있었음.ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

 

5. 이건 좀 자랑스러운거. 내가 글씨를 좀 잘써서 친구한테 이메일 말고 의미있게
플러스펜(뭔줄 아시죠?)으로 휘갈기며 편지를 쓰고있었는데
완전 동양 문화의 정수라며 떡실신.

 

6. 한국에서 PMP 가져갔다는 친구는 그저 영화만 봤을 뿐인데 아이팟터치보다 우월한거 아니냐는 외국인들 질문에 한국가면 그냥 TV도 나온다고하니까 떡실신.

 

7. 1탄에서 바나나킥 얘기를 안했는데 바나나를 모토로 만든 과자라고 설명하며 입에 넣어줬더니 씹지도 않았는데 혀에서 녹는다며 떡실신.

 

8. 내방에 있던 쿠쿠 밥솥을 보고 완전 거품물고 쓰러짐.
밥문화권 애들이 냄비갖고 푸석푸석한 밥을 지으며 부엌에서 안절부절하며 있는 것을 보고
내방에 데려와서 쿠쿠를 보여준 후 취사 눌러놓고 TV보면서 볼일 보라고 했더니
호그와트 마법학교에서 왔냐며 거품물고 떡실신.

문화가 다르니까 신기한게 많은가봐요.ㅎㅎㅎㅎ

특히 한글보고 신기해하던데요.

홋 -> 이글자보고 모자쓴 사람같다며 실신하던 외국인도 있었어요.ㅋㅋㅋ

9. 우리나라 왔던 외국인들 인터넷 속도보고 존니스트 빠르다고 개거품. 지네나라가서 절로 빨리빨리가 나온다는..ㅋㅋㅋ 그리고 짜장면시켰더니 20분도 안되 배달되고 다먹은 그릇 문밖에 내놓으니까 여기가 아틀란티스라며 개거품물고 실신.

1. 젓가락 숟가락 일체형 아실라나? 반으로 갈라져서 젓가락되고 합치면 숟가락되는.
한번 학교에서 도시락 싸와서 먹자고 피크닉을 했었는데 그 비장의 연장을 꺼내어
신세계를 보여줬더니 떡실신. 인크레더블 언빌리버블 퐌타스띡 찬사란 찬사는 다나온 발명품이었음.

 

2. 도대체 왜 떡실신한지 모르겠는 물건.
미숫가루 봉지를 찝어놓은 집게가 있었는데 그게 꽃게모양이었음.
뭐라 설명을 해야하나...왜 콘푸로스트같은거 공기들어가면 눅눅해지니까 그걸 방지하기위해 나온
비닐 집게 아시죠? 그거 보고 떡실신. 자꾸 옆에서 딸깍거리면서 집게보고 좋아하길래
그냥 선물로 줌.
덤으로 미숟가루 우유에 타맥였더니 몇달 뒤 검은머리로 염색까지하는 한국 팬됨.

 

3. 전공이 미대다보니 쓸일이 있지않을까해서 어렵게 구해간 색깔 샤프심.
이걸 필통에서 꺼내 아까말한 흔드는 샤프로 흔들어 사용하는 순간
지켜보던 교수마저 수업하다말고 이게 뭐냐며 물어봄.
말그대로 흔들면 나오은 샤프에 색깔있는 샤프심을 끼운것 뿐이다라고 설명하자
날 신처럼 떠받들며 한국에서 보내달라고 조르는 사람들...

 

4. 한번은 김에 밥을 싸먹는데 미국인 두명이 그 검은 종이가 뭐냐며 비아냥거림
닥치고 처먹어보라고 김에 밥 싸서 맥였더니 거의 식중독수준.
결국 그날 두달은 먹었을 김 동나버렸음. 맥주에 김을 연결시켜주니 파티할때 날 요리사로 추대함.

 

5. 결국 정말 파티에서 요리를 하게되었는데 어머니께 메일로 재료와 요리법을 보내달라고했음.
메뉴는 고추장 양념 삼겹살, 불고기, 비빔밥...처음엔 이런거 뭐 좋아한다고들 하는데 진짜 좋아하겠어라며 반신반의로 만들었더니 그날 친구의 친구까지 불러와서 내가만든 음식 먹이고...
처음에 스무명이 시작한 파티 요리 시작하고 100명인가... 재료는 지들이 계속 사다주겠다며 요리만시킴. 100명쯤 왔을때 잘 찾아보면 헐리우드 스타라도 있을줄 알았음.
아는사람 다데려왔을듯...조금 뻥 보태서 100명인데 정말 나한테서 배식받아갔음.ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

6. 한번은 놀이공원 놀러갔다가 사격장 발견. 우연인지 뭔지 그날 인형 7개 획득하자 
어떻게 그렇게 총을 잘쏘냐길래 나 2년동안 군인이었다고 말하자 떡실신.
호그와트 마법학교에서 온 한국인 학생이 요리까지 잘하고 조국애(__;)까지 있다며 거품물고 쓰러짐.

 

7. 녀석들이 김치라는 음식에 친근해질 무렾, 피자에 질린 내가 집에서 김치부침개를 하고있었음.
냄새맡은 녀석들이 좀비처럼 처들어오길래 이게 뭐하는짓이냐고 버럭했더니 오히려 이게 무슨 음식이냐고 버럭함. 나를 통해 한국의 맛은 믿을만하다는 인식이 생겨버린 녀석들에게
결국 한국식 피자 아니면 팬케익이라며 선사함.
우리나라사람들도 제일 좋아하는 부침게 끝부분 바삭한부분에 눈물흘리며 절규함.

이후 나는 호그와트 마법학교에 다니며 그리핀도르 기숙사에서 살다온 한국인 군인출신 요리 잘하는 미대생이라고 불렸음.

아 맞다. 담배 This를 보고 떡실신한 외국인도 있었음. 아마 '이것' 때문이었을거임.ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

 

외국인 떡실신 시리즈4탄

 

뉴욕에서 생겼던 일.

1. 내가 군대를 사단 사령부 행정병으로 다녀온 탓에 파워포인트와 엑셀의 신이 되어있었다.
마우스를 사용하지 않는 것은 기본이요 영문타자정도야 이미 익숙해져있던 어느날
팀끼리 발표를 하는 수업이 있었고, 난 현란한 키보드 드리블로 파워포인트를 작성하자 애들 떡실신

 

2. 아무래도 미대생이다보니 연필과 지우개가 많았을 터...카페에 앉아 흑인 간지남(윌스미스 뺨치게 멋있음)
친구와 둘이서 여학우들을 기다리는데 늦게온다고 전화오자 내가 지우개따먹기 (아시죠?ㅎㅎ)를 전파함.
갑자기 윌스미스가 에디머피로 변하며 박장대소 눈물콧물 다빼면서 눈에 불을 켜고 KO를 외침.

 

3. 평소 운동을 좋아하는데다가 공으로 하는건 다 자신있던 제가 키가 조금(?) 작은편이라 흑인 백인 우월체형들이랑 10달러씩 내기를 하기엔 역부족이었다.
풋볼도 안되겠고 축구는 안좋아하길래 결국에 생각해낸 구기종목이 족구!
얼핏보면 간단할것같은 족구에 여러가지 서브를 조미료처럼 첨가하자 거품물고 달려들어 너도나도 장래희망 족구선수. 족구를 가르쳐주자 다니던 대학 내에 리그가 생겼다. 아직도 그친구들 족구를 내가 창안한줄 안다.

 

4. 친하게 지내던 김모양이 한국에서 키높이 깔창을 가져왔었다. 그것도 에어달린걸로.
갑자기 키가컸다며 놀라던 양키들에게 자신의 나이키 에어포스원을 벗어서 안감을 보여주자 호빗들 떡실신. 김모양은 김느님이 되어버렸다.

 

5. 글쓰다 생각났는데 뽑기를 만들어본적이 있다. 앞서 소개했듯 난 거기서 요리사였기에 내가 만드는 음식은 일단 닥치고 먹어보자는 식의 친구들에게 과감히 뽑기라는 신문화를 넌지시 건내보았다.
당연히 실신. 얼마뒤 친구집에 놀러갔더니 국자가 새카만걸 보고 피식 했다.

 

외국인 떡실신  제 5탄!
   
호그와트 마법학교 그리핀도르 기숙사 학생식당에서 요리를 하다가 온
족구의 창시자이며 조국애까지 있는 총잘쏘는 한국 유학생이 된 나는 계속해서 미국땅의 친구들을 떡실신시켰다.

1. 학교에 멕시칸 친구가있었다. 매운 음식은 자기네가 최고라며 멕시코 음식점에 친구들을 데려갔다나...난 그냥 집에서 신라면 끓였다. 덩치 산만한 흑인도 울고 에디머피도 울고 멕시칸도울었다.

 

2. 다시 김 모양. 김 모양이 지하철에서 화장을 했단다. 덜컹거리는 지하철에서 립스틱을 정확히 바르는 것을 보고여자애들 떡실신. 아이라인 그리는거 보고 거품물고 가르쳐달라고 안달.

 

3. 한글로 요셉 어쩌구의 이름을 써달라길래 '요 셉' 써줬더니'요'자가 존니스티스트 웃기다며 거품물고 뒤집어짐. 인크레더블 핸드 오브 갓 언빌리버블 지쟈스 크라이스트를 외치며 한글 귀엽다고 가르쳐달라고함.

 

4. 이친구들은 한국인 머리묶는거에도 떡실신.
    한번 친구가 비녀를 꼽고 왔더니 소 핫핫 왓어 뷰리풀 그러면서 신세계에 입문.

 

5. 축제 비슷한 기간에 어떤 거리에 우리나라 나이트 명함뿌리듯이 뭘 뿌리는걸 보고는 내 친구가 다가가 현란한 손목스냅으로 명함을 에스에프볼 던지듯 휘날리자 미국인 알바생들 관광 떡실신. 거품물고 찬양. 가르쳐주소서.

아 하나 추가...

내친구 박모군은 6년간 펜팔하던 영국인 친구가 있었단다.
그러던 어느날 영국인 스미스군이 영국의 비싼 명품이라며 버버리 코트를 선물이라고 보내왔다.
횡재한 친구는 보답은 해야겠는데 돈은 없고 해서 잭필드 신사바지 3종세트를 보내면서
"너희 신사의 나라니까 특별히 이거 세종류 보낸다." 라며 보냈단다.
그뒤로 스미스가 자기가 보내준거보다 존니어 존니어 좋은것같다며 친구들한테 입고 자랑하는 인증샷을 찍어
메일로 보내왔단다. 인증샷보고 나 떡실신.
